- Hornstrandir photography or filming that affects wildlife or visitor experience requires permission, and seasonal breeding restrictions can prevent drone approvals.
- Protection permission does not replace landowner, municipality, aviation, or other required authorization.
- General public access is not authorization to occupy, alter, reserve, or commercially use a site.
- Confirm the parcel, conservation boundary, landowner, event footprint, photography equipment, drone rules, traffic impact, and wildlife season.
Beautiful does not automatically mean ceremony-ready. Before paying a deposit, confirm your ceremony, equipment, photography, and setup with the land manager or owner.

Legal domicile in Iceland is not required, but nonresidents use the manual District Commissioner process and submit foreign marital-status evidence.
- Submit original marriage notification and required supporting documents in advance.
- Provide birth certificates, identification, and marital-status certificates generally no more than 12 weeks old.
- Provide additional proof for a prior divorce or death of a spouse when applicable.
- Coordinate place and time directly with the officiant; the examination application itself is not a ceremony booking.
- Use an Iceland-authorized officiant; foreign-law authority alone generally does not authorize an Iceland ceremony.
